Most of us can recall classic images of some of the most well-known cigar smokers in all sorts of industries.  However, when it comes to music artists, today’s ones are just as enthusiastic about their cigars as ones from the past were.  So, we have put together a quick top 5 list of some familiar faces who do enjoy lighting up a stogie, no matter the time or occasion even.

#5: Rihanna

The Barbadian singer, songwriter, and actress was born in Saint Michael and raised in Bridgetown, the capital of all things cigars.  Rihanna has been known to relax while taking in a fantastic cigar.  She even shared her passion with Shakira in the music video titled, “Can’t Remember to Forget You”.  Rihanna has been spotted enjoying various stogies, ranging from smaller Arturo Fuente Exquisito to the bigger Cohiba Corona Minor.

#4: Sean (P Diddy) Combs

Sean (P Diddy) Combs attempts to take time out on a weekly basis to let go of business and simply relax with his kids.  Sundays are also his time for slowing down with a fantastic cigar.  In fact, each Sunday he takes what he refers to as “me time”.  This is usually accomplished with a Cohiba, occasionally with a Montecristo.  And, sometimes he enjoys cigars during the week, too.

Specifically, P Diddy states: “That’s the definition of a cigar for me: when you’re comfortable, and don’t want to feel stress,” he says. “It calms the mind. It’s something I’ve been doing for the past few years. I do my best to make sure I take that time.”

#3: Usher

When Usher chills with a cigar, his voice is always a consideration, as he stated, “I don’t smoke when I’m on tour. “If I have a few days off, I might. I tend to celebrate with a cigar at the end of a tour.”

Usher enjoys a Dominican Republic made Cohiba Corona, the variety made in the Dominican Republic. He stated: “I like the smell and taste of a good cigar. It’s a great fit that truly celebrates the occasion. There’s nothing better than to open the doors, feel the summer breeze and have a nice cigar. And there’s nothing better, when you’re in a space where you’re being creative. There’s something about savoring a moment, rather than wracking your head to find a creative solution.”

#2: Kid Rock

Kid Rock was one of the first during the 90s to transcend the gap between country and rock n’ roll, making him one of the best to ever perform.  Despite taking partying to the extreme sometimes, he is usually not seen without his Stetson – and usually leather trousers too.  Kid Rock has a class and style that’s difficult to replicate.  However, in spite of the fact that he’s not opposed to a few drinks when the occasion/instance presents itself, one of his biggest loves is his cigar.  Kid Rock was asked in the past: “You’re well-known as a man who loves a good cigar. What’s your favorite brand”?  His response was, “Arturo Fuente Short Stories — the Hemingways. That’s all I smoke. I’d appreciate it if you would be so kind as to tell people I very much appreciate the cigars they bring me all the time, but most of those go to my father. I only smoke the Short Stories. I appreciate the gesture very much, and I always accept them, but I do not smoke anything but the Fuente Short Stories.

#1: Jay-Z

Jay-Z is recognized by many as the true ‘King of Hip-Hop’, so it’s not too surprising then he is also an avid cigar fanatic.  He has been interviewed in Cigar Aficionado and appeared on its cover.  He even has a tremendous appreciation for Ramon Allones and Montecristo.  Jay-Z craves cigars to the point that he went out and developed his own line.  Working with General Cigar, Jay even produced the new, but rare Cohiba Commodore – a richly medium to full-bodied smoke.
